Trump defends Pam Bondi as FBI chief dismisses Epstein file conspiracy rumors

Trump Supports Attorney General Amid Epstein Probe Controversy
President Donald Trump has publicly defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, expressing strong support for her work as tensions continue to mount over the Justice Department's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. This comes after FBI Director Kash Patel addressed rumors about his potential resignation, emphasizing that such claims are unfounded.
Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his admiration for Bondi and to urge Americans to stop focusing on Epstein. "What’s going on with my 'boys' and, in some cases, 'gals?' They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!" he wrote. The president emphasized that the administration is united under the MAGA banner and criticized those trying to undermine it.
"LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB – SHE’S GREAT! One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the 'HOTTEST' Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about," Trump continued.
The controversy surrounding the Epstein case has led to internal conflicts within the Justice Department. Reports suggest a heated exchange occurred between FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino and Bondi at the White House earlier in the week. The discussion arose following a Justice Department review of Epstein’s case, which found no conclusive evidence regarding his death or the existence of a so-called "client list."
Bongino, who had previously expressed concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding Epstein's files, reportedly considered resigning after less than four months in his role. A source close to the matter indicated that his relationship with Bondi has deteriorated significantly, raising concerns that other officials might follow suit.
However, Patel quickly dismissed these allegations, stating, "The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been." He reaffirmed his commitment to serving under Trump, stating, "It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States @realDonaldTrump – and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me."
The situation escalated after the Department of Justice concluded its investigation into the circumstances of Epstein's death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2019. The probe followed Epstein's charges for sex trafficking dozens of girls. During this time, Bondi mentioned to Fox News that she had documents related to the case on her desk, including the infamous "client list."
However, the Justice Department released a two-page memo stating that a systematic review of the evidence found no credible evidence of a "client list" or any blackmail involving prominent individuals. The memo also noted that there was no evidence to support an investigation into uncharged third parties.
This development has sparked further debate about the transparency and thoroughness of the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein case. As the controversy continues, the focus remains on the actions of key figures within the department and their ability to maintain public trust.
With ongoing discussions about the integrity of the investigations and the roles of various officials, the situation highlights the complex challenges faced by the Justice Department in addressing high-profile cases. The outcome of these internal conflicts could have significant implications for the administration and the broader political landscape.
