Iowa Cubs: A Close Call
In a high-stakes game against the St. Paul Saints (Twins), the Iowa Cubs fell short, losing 10-9. The game turned into a bullpen battle, with Luke Little starting strong by throwing the first two innings. He allowed two runs on two hits and three walks but did not record a single strikeout.
Brandon Hughes took the loss in the third inning, surrendering back-to-back solo home runs. His line showed two runs on two hits over one inning, with two strikeouts. Despite a late rally, the I-Cubs couldn't overcome the deficit.

South Bend Cubs: A Dominant Performance
The South Bend Cubs were defeated by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Brewers) with a final score of 3-2. Ryan Gallagher dominated the game early, retiring the first 16 batters before giving up a single in the sixth inning. He came out for the seventh inning but allowed a two-run home run to tie the game and a solo home run to put Wisconsin ahead.
Gallagher ended up with the loss, allowing three runs on four hits over seven innings. He struck out four batters without walking anyone. South Bend managed only four hits, with catcher Ariel Armas walking in the fourth inning and scoring on a sac fly. Armas went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans: Strong Pitching Leads to Victory
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans shut out the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (White Sox) with a 5-0 victory. Three pitchers combined to hold the Cannon Ballers to just two hits. Starter Kevin Valdez earned the win, allowing two hits over six innings. He struck out five batters and walked two.
Relievers Yoendris Gonzalez and Luis Martinez-Gomez kept the momentum going, retiring the final nine batters in order. Gonzalez threw one inning without a strikeout, while Martinez-Gomez struck out five of the six batters he faced.
Owen Ayers, the catcher, hit a solo home run in the eighth inning, his fourth of the season. He went 1 for 4. Christian Olivo, the third baseman, drove in a run with a two-run single in the fourth inning. He went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. Alexis Hernandez, the second baseman, had a solid game, going 2 for 4 and scoring a run.
Ayers’ home run traveled 430 feet, showcasing his power at the plate.
ACL Cubs: Another Loss
The ACL Cubs fell to the Rockies with a final score of 10-3. Despite their efforts, they were unable to keep up with the strong performance of the opposing team.
